YES ONE

YES ONE also known as “Ya Tu Sabe” is a Bronx based artist with graffiti roots starting during junior high in 1983. At the age of 10, he developed a friendship and mentorship with graffiti pioneer Smiley 149 R.I.P on his regular visits to the local arcade to play Asteroids. The duo would check out the fresh art on subway trains. The creativity in the air sparked his inspiration to start painting burners, and some say stylized lettering with arrows became symbols of his youth.

YES’s art often reflects the complexities of city life, touching on themes of identity, community, and resilience. He engages viewers by challenging perceptions with brilliant usage of new and recycled materials which forge together forming intricate creations. Beyond the studio, YES ONE is deeply invested in the creative community, often collaborating with fellow artists and participating in various art initiatives. His commitment to using art as a means of positive expression resonates with New Yorkers and collectors globally. YES ONE continues to inspire and provoke thought through his craft capturing the hearts of those who encounter his work on the streets and in the galleries.
